This week, Google has introduced some latest updates in Google Search. Other than making changes in Search Options Panel, they introduced a new brighter, lighter and simpler Google Logo.
Here is a tutorial for you on how to create this new logo in photoshop.
Google logo uses Catull Regular font. So if you don’t have this font, first install this font.
Google logo uses four different colors, color codes are as follows
Blue : #1552d9 (letter G,g)
Red: #d62408 (first o, and e)
Yellow: #fca304 (second o in the logo)
Green: #01a20c (letter l)
I am going to use font size 250 for this logo. If you are going to design the logo in smaller size, the settings may vary a little.
So now your logo will look like this.
Right click the text layer (named Google), and click on Blending Options… Or you can go to Layer > Layer Styles > Blending Options with Google text layer selected. Now click on Drop Shadow style and make the following settings.
Blend Mode: Normal
Angle: 120 degrees (Use Global Light)
The logo should look like this now
Now we will apply the Bevel and Emboss effect. Again go to Blending Options of Google Layer and click on Bevel and Emboss.
Make the following settings
Structure – Style: Inner Bevel, Technique: Smooth, Depth: 50%, Direction: up, Size: 25 px, Soften: 0 px
Shading Settings – Angle: 120, Altitude: 45, Highlight Mode: screen, opacity: 31%, Shadow Mode: multiply, opacity: 90%
And now the logo is ready. Here is what it should look like.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial.
